BEIJING, May 21 -- China on Wednesday voiced support for Nigeria in fighting terrorism.
"China is paying close attention to Nigeria's security and stability situation," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei at a daily press briefing while commenting on the blast in the central Nigeria city of Jos on Tuesday.
The twin blast at a busy market road has left at least 118 people dead after casualty figures were collated from various health facilities.
Hong said China supports Nigeria's efforts to safeguard national security and stability.
He added that China is ready to join hands with the international community to play a positive role to combat terrorism and maintain Africa's peace and stability.
