SHANGHAI, May 21 -- Senior Chinese security official Meng Jianzhu on Monday met with visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to promote bilateral security cooperation, according to a press release from the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Wednesday.
Hun Sen is here to attend the fourth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held in the eastern China economic hub of Shanghai on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Meng, head of the Commission and also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said China and Cambodia need to enhance cooperation on security and law enforcement and implement the consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Hun Sen in their meeting on Sunday to safeguard the national security and stability of each country.
Hun Sen said Cambodia would like to boost its comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation with China and promote bilateral security cooperation.
