BEIJING, July 5 -- Heavy rain will hit parts of eastern and central China over the weekend, accompanied by strong winds, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said on Saturday.
The NMC issued a yellow alert on Saturday morning, saying that eastern regions of Jiangsu and Zhejiang, Shanghai, and central parts of Anhui, Jiangxi and Hunan will see torrential rain from Saturday to Sunday, with the precipitation expected to reach up to 150 mm.
Parts of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Yunnan Province, and northeastern Heilongjiang Province would also be hit by heavy rain.
China has a four-tier color-coded warning system for severe weather, with red being the most serious, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
