BEIJING, July 6 -- Fire engulfed a protective screen on an aboveground section of the Beijing subway on Sunday evening, with no casualty reported, fire fighters said.
Operation has ceased on the Xizhimen-Zhichunlu section of the Line 13 since the fire was reported at 7:41 p.m., according to fire fighters and subway operators.
A fire broke out at a warehouse and later set alight the subway screen. Nineteen fire engines rushed to the site and put out the blaze at 8:26 p.m..
The screen separates the line from nearby and reduces noise from the running trains.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
