KUNMING, July 7 -- One person was killed and four others went missing after mudslides destructed houses on Sunday evening in a village in southwest China's Yunnan Province, local authorities said Monday.
On Sunday evening, the flash mudslides occurred at Dongshan Village of Yongsheng County in Lishui City, flattening multiple houses and washing away five villagers, according to the county government.
Local governments have sent more than 200 rescuers to search for the missing people.
As of Monday noon, one of them had been found dead. Further rescue work is under way.
