He said the unnamed woman had lived in Australia and was traveling with her husband who was a Dutch national, Radio New Zealand reported.
Few other details are available, but McCully said a British national living in New Zealand was also on the flight list.
Earlier Friday, McCully called for an unhindered investigation into the crash.

A reported 298 people were aboard the Boeing 777-200ER aircraft when it crashed in the Ukraine en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur and reports suggested many of them were traveling onwards to Australia and New Zealand.
