All five workers were rescued Saturday after a landslide trapped them for more than 10 hours in a railway tunnel, authorities in northwest China's Gansu Province said.
The workers are all in stable condition and are under medical observation, the county government of Yuzhong said in a statement.
The landslide happened at around 2 a.m. Saturday and closed off the opening of a tunnel in Hongliangying Village of Yuzhong County in the outskirts of the provincial capital Lanzhou, it said.
The tunnel, which is still under construction, is part of the high-speed railway linking Lanzhou with Baoji in neighboring Shaanxi Province.
Immediately after the accident, rescuers restored the ventilation system to supply air into the tunnel, the document said.
