HARBIN, Sept. 5 -- Four police officers were suspended after three inmates escaped a detention center and killed a guard in Yanshou county of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Tuesday, local authorities said Friday.
They included head, deputy head and a police officer from the detention center as well as a deputy head of the Yanshou county public security bureau in charge of the detention affairs, the public security bureau of Harbin City, which administers Yanshou, said.
They will be investigated and dealt with according to the law, they said.
Li Haiwei, 29, who was suspected of intentional homicide, was captured by police on Wednesday night at Yushan Village.
Wang Damin, 35, who was suspected of intentional injury which resulted in death, was captured at XinSheng Village early Thursday morning.
Gao Yulun, 50, who was sentenced to death for intentional homicide, is still on the run.
