BEIJING, Sept. 11 -- No Ebola cases have been reported in China so far, a Chinese health authority spokeswoman confirmed on Thursday.
China has improved communication with the World Health Organization and countries with the epidemic to better monitor and predict the spread of the Ebola virus, said Song Shuli, spokeswoman of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), at a press conference.
Authorities also adopted stricter port inspections to prevent the virus from entering the country, Song said.
In preparation of the fight against the epidemic, which is still spreading in West Africa, Chinese health authorities have set down a prevention and control plan and are conducting rehearsals and training accordingly, she said.
