SHIJIAZHUANG, Sept. 17 -- The driver of a truck that crashed into a bus stop in north China's Hebei Province has been detained, police said on Wednesday.
The crash happened in downtown Zhangjiakou City at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday after the truck's brakes failed at an intersection, hitting a car first and then overturning before crashing into the bus stop. Eight people were killed and six were injured in the accident.
The injured were rushed to the hospital and are in stable condition.
Further investigation is under way.
