Gao Weiping, president of the Jilin University of Chemical Technology, is suspected of abusing power and embezzling public funds.
Another two officials are suspected of taking bribes, including Liu Jianjun, former deputy director of the standing committee of the people's congress of Xiaogan City in central China's Hubei Province, and Feng Limei, former head of the political advisory body of Maoming City in south China's Guangdong Province.
The cases are still under investigation.
