INCHEON, South Korea, Sept. 19 -- Chinese sensation Alex Hua Tian will amend the absence of the Guangzhou Asian Games when he shows up at the Dream Park Equestian Venue, the hosting venue of the Equestian of the Incheon Asian Games.
Tian, who was born in London in 1989, will represent China in the eventing individual for the first time at Asiad after he gave up the Guangzhou Asian Games due to horse problem in 2010.
He got his fame as the youngest Olympic rider at age of 19 when he qualified at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Tian arrived Incheon on Thursday, saying that he's ready to face challenge from the Japanese riders.
Japan, one of the leading Equestrian nations in Asia, will compete in all the events in Incheon.
Hiroshi Miyata of Kyodo News, who follows Japanese Equestrian team, said on Friday, "Japan has no star rider in Incheon, which means we might focus more on team events, not individuals."
This leaves chance to Tian and his teammate Liu Lina, the first female Equestrian Olympian in China, to make some showcases here.
China finished second to South Korea in the Dressage in Guangzhou four years ago. This time, China sees no help on the team events from Tian, who only competes in the individuals.
The Equestrian event is scheduled to kick off on Saturday with six gold medals on stake in eight-day competitions.
