SINGAPORE, Sept. 24 -- The National University of Singapore launched a China Business Center on Wednesday to help deepen understanding of the business environment in China.

Established by the Business School of the university, the center is aimed to provide policy makers, practitioners and academics with a world-class resource center and research platform for China business and education, the university said.

It will seek to contribute to the globalization and transformation of China-related businesses by deepening the understanding of China's business environment.

The center will focus on three areas such as advancing research in management challenges in China, developing leaders with deep China insights through high-quality China-focused business education, and building on the business school's expertise on China and comprehensive network of Chinese alumni and business connections to provide thought leadership on China business.

It is expected to bring industry leaders from Singapore and China together for deeper dialogue.

Some of its upcoming projects include training programs for business leaders and studies on management challenges and issues faced by businesses in China. It will also organize research symposiums and workshops to promote understanding of China's business landscape.

Singapore has had growing economic ties with China over the past decades. It is now the leading source of foreign investment in China, though it is still behind China's Hong Kong.
