The festive “2014 Shaanxi Hanzhong (Chenggu) Orange Tourism Culture Month” will be held from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31 in Chenggu, Shaanxi Province.

Chenggu is honored as one of the first “Cities of Cultural and Historical Fame” in Shaanxi, and is also the hometown of Zhang Qian, who opened up the ancient Silk Road. Covering an area of 230,000 mu (approx. 153,410 hectares), the band-shaped orange orchard stretches dozens of kilometers from east to west. Every fall, the orange trees will be laden with fruits, casting a dazzling golden glow.
