A Village Chosen as a Model of Rural Tourism at Provincial Level in Shaanxi Province, Sunyuan Village lies to the east of Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, bordering on Yaowang Mountain (or Mount King of Medicine). The village is believed to be the native place of Sun Simiao, the great traditional Chinese medicine doctor of the Tang Dynasty widely acclaimed as China's King of Medicine and a major expert in health preservation. The scenic spot in the village, formally known as the China's King of Medicine's Native Place Scenic Spot, includes such attractions as Yaowang (King of Medicine) Square, Yaowang Health Preservation Park, Yaowang Mausoleum, and Yaowang Ancestral Temple. It is rated as a National AA Level facility by the China National Tourism Administration.
