Russia to launch 70 Proton rockets by 2020: officialBAMAKO, Nov. 25 -- Mali has confirmed two new Ebola cases after the death of five people due to the virus, a source from the public health ministry said on Monday.
"Two confirmed cases have been placed in the treatment center," the statement said, adding that 271 people who had contact with them have equally been placed under medical surveillance.
Mali's first Ebola case was confirmed in Kayes, a two-year old girl who had returned from Guinea.
Four other people were infected with the virus by a Guinean in Bamako, before later succumbing to the disease. The four included a nurse, a doctor and two family members who welcomed the Guinean in Bamako.
Elsewhere, doctors from various Malian regions met in Bamako to undergo training on how to use protective equipment to avoid being contaminated with the Ebola virus. The training was organized by the World Health Organization.
