SHENZHEN, Nov. 29 -- U.S. model Shelynne Hoyt was crowned at the 26th Miss Model of the World International Grand Final Contest in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen on Saturday.

Ukrainian model, Anastasiya Sukh, was the runner-up and Russian model model, Natalia Tcytko, finished third.

The final results came after a round of show-up in ethnic clothing, swimsuits and evening dress.

Altogether 61 models from 61 countries and regions participated in the final contest.

The beauty pageant, begun in Istanbul, Turkey in 1988, has attracted the participation of over 10,000 models around the world over the past 26 years.
