HANGZHOU, China, Dec. 2 -- Chinese Super League side Hangzhou Greentown signs Frenchman Philippe Troussier as their new head coach Monday, announced the club on its official website.
Troussier, known as the 'White witchdoctor', will lead Greentown in the new season.
The 59-year-old left Tunisians CS Sfaxien in September by mutual consent after they failed to reach the CAF Champions League final.
Troussier had guided the national teams of Japan, Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and South Africa.
He led Japan to the last 16 at the 2002 World Cup and Japan's under-23 side to fifth place at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
Troussier had guided China's Shenzhen Ruby FC from 2011 to 2013.
