BEIJING, Dec. 26 -- A forum was held here Friday to mark the 110th anniversary of the founding of the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC).
Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong, RCSC president Hua Jianmin, and Peng Peiyun, RCSC special consultant, attended the forum.
During his speech, Wang said that over the past 110 years, "the RCSC has always observed the principles and purposes of the international Red Cross movement and promoted the Red Cross spirit."
Moreover, he appreciated the RCSC's role in assisting the government in its humanitarian work and its contribution for the country and the people.
Wang called on the RCSC to further raise its credibility with hard work and continue its exertions in humanitarian and foreign assistance.
He called on governments at all levels and society at large to give more attention and support to the RCSC's work.
