BEIJING, Jan. 7 -- Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng on Wednesday met with Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa Delgado on promoting bilateral ties.
Yu, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, hailed the fast development of China-Ecuador ties in recent years.
He said the announcement to establish a strategic partnership between China and Ecuador during Correa's talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping this morning injected new vitality into bilateral ties.
The CPPCC and the National Assembly of Ecuador, having long maintained close cooperation, have played an important role in promoting bilateral ties, said Yu.
He suggested both sides continue to enhance exchanges at all levels, learn from each other on national governance, and boost mutual understanding between the two peoples so as to contribute more to the common prosperity and development of the two countries.
Correa, who is on a five-day state visit to China that started Monday, said he felt the hospitality of the Chinese people and the profound friendship between the Ecuadorian and Chinese people throughout the visit.
Ecuador-China ties are at their best in history, said Correa, adding that his country will commit to developing an all-round strategic partnership with China.
