
BEIJING, Jan. 15 -- Five local-level officials in central Henan Province have been indicted for corruption, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) on Thursday.
Zhang Xiang, former Communist Party of China (CPC) chief and company president of Henan Materials Group; Guo Pengliang, former CPC chief of Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences; and Hou Junyi, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of Luoyang Municipal People's Congress in Henan, are all being investigated by local prosecutors for accepting bribes.
Local prosecutors in Henan also have indicted Cai Juyu, former CPC chief of Henan Provincial People's Hospital; and Chang Hong, former Party chief of the urban-rural-integration demonstration zone in Jiaozuo City, for the same crime.
All five officials are in Henan provincial prosecutors' custody.
