SHANGHAI, Feb. 4 -- With Shanghai Disneyland's signature hotel topping out this week, the whole resort looks likely to be finished within the year.
The 420-room hotel will offer guests views of the complex, the Disneytown area and the central lake, according to a statement released by Disney on Wednesday.
The Art Nouveau hotel will have "a touch of Disney magic and imagination", the statement said.
Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong said last week that Disney's first park on the Chinese mainland would be "basically finished" in 2015 and the opening date was still being discussed.
Yang said studies were underway to properly handle the large number of tourists expected to visit the park.
Shanghai Disney Resort is Disney's sixth resort destination worldwide. Construction began in 2011 in Shanghai's Pudong New District.
Last April, the resort's shareholders announced an expansion plan to capitalize on the fast growth of China's tourism sector.
