BEIJING, Feb. 5-- An economic fraud suspect was handed over to Chinese police on Thursday after more than a year on the run in Russia.
Wang, the suspect, who is said to have obtained more than 6 million yuan (978,000 U.S. dollars) via false contracts, fled to Russia in December 2013, according to the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).
In January 2014, an arrest warrant was issued for Wang, a native of north China's Liaoning Province.
Since last year, Chinese and Russian police have worked together on scores of cases, including smuggling and kidnapping. Several economic fugitives have been repatriated, the MPS said.
