
LHASA, March 3-- Heavy snow has obstructed roads and killed livestock in China's Tibet Autonomous Region, said a local official on Tuesday.
Burang County in southwestern Tibet has been battered by heavy snow since Sunday, and 62 centimeters of snow had fallen as of Tuesday, said Wei Dong, head of the county government.
Telecommunications, power and water supply remain unaffected.
More than 100 people and 30 vehicles were stranded on a national highway. All have been rescued.
No casualties have been reported.
Local authorities have enough food, medicine and clothes prepared should there be an emergency, assured Wei.
