
TAIYUAN, March 3 -- Two senior officials in north China's Shanxi Province have been expelled from the Party and removed from office after being investigated for corruption, the provincial discipline inspection authority announced on Tuesday.
Li Jiangong was head of the provincial Bureau of Land and Resources, and Liu Deyue was district secretary of the Communist Party of China committee in Yangquan City.
This is the latest in a string of punishments for corruption among Shanxi's high-ranking officials.
The province is one of the major coal producers in China and a big contributor to its energy supply.
