BEIJING, March 8 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian striker Paulo Henrique completed a hat-trick to help Shanghai Greenland beat Shanghai Shenxin 6-2 in a local derby clash in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
The newly recruited legendary Australian veteran Tim Cahill was warmly welcomed in his first appearance for Greenland, but it was Henrique's day as he scored the team's first goal in the 28th minute and finished his hat-trick with two more goals in the second half.
An own goal by defender Lim You-Hwan and a fouled penalty by Liao Chengjian further depressed the Shenxin squad which had to settle with a 0-3 scoreline in the dying minutes of the first half. Daniel Chima's last minute goal in the first half helped Shenxin keep some hopes alive.
In the second half, two goals from Henrique and one from Stophira Sunzu helped Greenland smash Shenxin 6-2 at last, while Chi Zhongguo hit another for the visiting team.
The runner-up of last season Beijing Guoan beat the newly promoted Chongqing Lifan 3-0 as the three strikers Dejan Demjanovic, Pablo Batalla and Erton Fejzullahu scored for the visiting team.
In other two games, Shandong Luneng beat Changchun Yatai 2-0, and Henan Jianye beat Tianjin Teda 3-1.
The defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande will meet the newly promoted Shijiazhuang Ever Bright on Monday.
