BRATISLAVA, March 24 -- Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico sent condolence telegrams to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy respectively to express his sympathies over the crash of Germanwings flight on Tuesday.
"It is with great sadness that I learned the news about the crash of the aircraft of German airline company Germanwings, in which a large number of passengers died tragically, including citizens of the German Federal Republic and Spanish Kingdom," Fico wrote in the telegram. "Allow me to send my condolences to you and all the relatives of victims."
The aircraft, inbound from Barcelona to Dusseldorf, crashed earlier on Tuesday in the French Alps. Most passengers were German and Spanish nationals.
