BEIJING, March 31 -- The Ministry of Culture on Tuesday announced a list of websites suspected of spreading pornography and violence, including tudou.com and youku.com.
According to a ministry statement, some animated products contain content that glorifies violence and terrorism; others, including Japanese products "Blood-C" and "High School of the Dead," are alleged to involve pornography.
The document said the websites are suspected of inducing minors to break the law and challenging accepted moral values.
The statement asked the Internet firms to learn to enhance their mechanism for content approval.
The punishment for the firms will be released later. The ministry plans to train the executive officers of the firms to improve their services, the statement said.
