
NANJING, April 12 -- Two workers died and more than ten others were injured after a sight-seeing structure under construction collapsed in east China's Jiangsu Province on Sunday afternoon, said local government.
More than 20 workers fell to the ground as the facility in the "Imperial Garden" neighborhood in Taizhou City collapsed at around 5 p.m..One was killed on the spot and another died later in hospital.
Rescuers are trying to bring out one worker who is still buried under the fallen scaffold.
The injured were sent to local hospitals for treatment.
Construction of the structure began a week ago. The major steel framework has been completed. It is more than 10 meters high and covers a land area of over 200 square meters.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
