BEIJING, April 14 -- Chinese central authorities has demanded improvements to ideological and political education at the grassroots levels.
A guideline on ideology was released on Tuesday by the publicity department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, the central spiritual civilization development steering commission, the Ministry of Culture, and the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television.
According to the document, authorities want to promote the teaching of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the Chinese way and the Chinese dream at the grassroots levels.
Local officials and the masses should gain confidence in the theory, the way and the system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, it noted.
Authorities also called for better public awareness of rule of law, patriotism and social responsibility as well as spreading socialist core values and traditional virtue among the people.
