
HOHHOT, April 14 -- Wildfires that killed 23 people in Russiahave crossed the Chinese border into Inner Mongolia, Chinese fire fighters said on Tuesday.
The wildfires swept into China on Monday.
No casualties have been reported in China.
The wildfires raged through 30 residential houses and 55 cowshed, and burned vehicles and machinery of more than 50 families and a large amount of fodder in Ergune City, local firefighters said.
The estimated economic loss is about 20 million yuan (3.2 million U.S. dollars). More than 660 fire fighters are battling the wildfires near the border.
