CHANGSHA, April 19 -- Two people were killed and five others injured on Saturday night in an arson attack on a karaoke venue in central China's Hunan Province by a customer angry over his bill, according to local police.
The fire broke out at 8:46 p.m. in the Night Shanghai venue in Shaodong County. Two waitresses were killed.
Shaodong policemen said on Sunday that the fire was set by Zhao Hu, a local seeking vengeance after he believed he was overcharged at the venue in January.
Surveillance video shows Zhao rush into Night Shanghai on a motorbike, gash its gasoline tank with a knife and flee the scene after igniting gasoline on the floor.
Two of the injured are in serious conditions in hospital. Police are hunting Zhao.
