JAKARTA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Malawi and China have witnessed very good cooperation and the friendship with China has been one of Malawi's most important bilateral relations, a Malawian diplomat said Monday. "The China-Malawi cooperation is very, very good. China is a very important country. It is very important to be friendly with them as they are friendly with us," Charles E. Namondwe, ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malawi to China, told Xinhua on the sidelines of the Asian-African Ministerial Meeting.
The ministerial meeting is part of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, which lasts from April 19-24.
Malawi is lending a lot from China, and China is also assisting Malawi, Namondwe added. The two countries established diplomatic ties in 2007.
The diplomat also spoke highly of South-South cooperation, saying that is"the right thing to happen" and all aspects of the cooperation are quite significant. "There is something you (China) can give us and there is something we can give from our side of the world," Namondwe added.
