BEIJING, April 28 -- A China design has won the International Ear Care Day logo competition, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Tuesday.
The Chinese logo, named "Listening to the World", stood out among the 125 entries and will be used from 2016 in all publicity materials used by the WHO to advocate hearing protection.
International Ear Care Day was heralded by the Chinese government in 2000 to promote public awareness of hearing protection. China has been working closely with the WHO to provide aural rehabilitation to the hearing impaired and set up several hearing research institutes.
The International Ear Care Day falls on March 3 each year. There are more than 27.8 million aural disabled people in China.
