BEIJING, May 13 -- The Chinese mainland will continue to support Taiwan businesses by offering more tax reductions, a spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The State Council, or Cabinet, announced new tax reduction measures for all enterprises, including Taiwanese businesses based on the mainland, on Monday, said Fan Liqing, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a press conference.
The new measures show the mainland attaches great importance to the rights and interests of Taiwanese businesses, Fan said, adding she hopes it will "dissolve Taiwan businessmen's concerns" and strengthen their confidence of mainland deployment.
The mainland has also taken measures to help Taiwan agricultural products expand, the spokesperson said.
"Mainland consumers are now able to purchase Taiwan agricultural products directly from the mainland's major e-commerce portals, such as taobao.com and benlai.com, which have established cooperation with producers on the island.
