SHENZHEN, May 20 -- A man in south China's Shenzhen City stabbed a child to death and injured another seven on Wednesday, local authorities said.
The stabbing took place at around 7 p.m. on Tianbeisi Road, 630 meters away from a psychiatric hospital. Police seized the man at the scene.
The man is suspected of suffering from a mental illness, according to the municipal public security bureau.
The injured children are all being treated in hospital.
Further investigation is underway.
