LONDON May 28 (People's Daily Online)—— The UK business organisation CBI commented on the outcome of the European Parliament’s international trade committee vote on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) earlier today.
CBI Brussels Director Sean McGuire said: “This overall positive vote confirms that MEPs are right behind a trade and investment deal with the United States, the UK’s biggest export market outside the EU.
“British businesses of all sizes will benefit from a deal that cuts tariffs, unlocks new trade in services, and reduces behind-the-border red tape. Consumers and employees will feel the positive effects of TTIP because free trade ultimately means lower prices and more jobs.
“Both sides must now move full steam ahead to deliver an ambitious agreement. Getting TTIP signed would be a great example of the EU focussing on the big issues that are so vital for the future of our economy.”
