BEIJING, June 1 -- The People's Liberation Army (PLA) on Monday kicked off its annual trans-regional exercise at Zhurihe training base in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in north China.
The drill involves 10 mixed brigades from all seven military area commands and will last until the end of September.
The troops will be trained by the PLA's first simulation training troop, the blue force, a reinforced brigade from Beijing Military Command.
The drill will focus on joint decision making and action, and will include long-distance delivery, battlefield maneuvers, live ammunition skills and tactical commanding.
Apart from the Zhurihe drill, there will also be exercises at six other training bases, according to the PLA.
