BEIJING, June 10 -- A Chinese mainland spokesman Wednesday reiterated the country's opposition to the independence of Hong Kong and Taiwan.
"We firmly oppose any speeches and actions that are intended to harm Hong Kong's political development, prosperity and stability, and sabotage cross-Strait and Hong Kong-Taiwan relations," said Ma Xiaoguang, spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, at a regular press conference.
