The Korean viral hit Gangnam Style woke up a ten-year-old girl who had laid in a coma for 258 days due to cerebral bleeding, Beijing News reported on Wednesday.
Liu Ruixiang, the mother of the girl, said her daughter's face burst into a smile after hearing her hum the Korean pop song, which the girl used to like a lot before the accident.
Docter He Jianghong, a neurosurgeon with The Military General Hospital of the Beijing PLA said it was "a medical miracle which has not been seen in decades". Patients who are unable to wake up after three months are usually not expected to wake up at all.
One thing for sure is that Liu's devoted care has been a great help for her daughter's recovery as well. Liu messaged her daughter over four hundred times a day.
