
BEIJING, June 28-- China's top meteorological authority on Sunday continued to warn of heavy rain and high temperature that have battered parts of the country for days.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) issued a blue warning for heavy rain, the fifth straight day such an alert has been announced. It issued a second yellow warning for high temperature following one on Saturday.
Heavy rain will persist in parts of the provinces of Henan, Hubei, Anhui, Jiangsu and Zhejiang as well as the city of Shanghai, the NMC said.
Parts of Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fujian and Chongqing municipality will see temperature rise above 37 degrees Celsius.
The NMC advised people in the affected regions to take precautions against heat stroke and landslides.
China's meteorological disaster alerts are categorized as blue, yellow, orange and red as the severity of disasters ascends.
