
GUANGZHOU, June 30 -- Poisonous gas leaked from a factory in south China's Guangdong Province Tuesday, leaving 57 primary school students and one teacher hospitalized, local government said.
The accident happened around 10:00 a.m. in the city of Zhongshan.
A special team of about 50 doctors and nurses was set up to treat the poisoned students, a spokesperson from the Zhongshan government said.
No one was in critical condition, according to the Dongsheng hospital where the students were treated.
The factory has been shut down, the Zhongshan government said.
