BEIJING, July 2 -- The charity performance “Loving Chinese Education”, which aims at raising funds for Malaysian local Chinese schools, is to kick off in October.
This event is co-organized by Sin Chew Daily, the leading Chinese-language newspaper in Malaysia, and Hai-O Foundation, subordinate body of the famous local enterprise Hai-O Group.
Started in 2010, “Loving Chinese Education” charity performance has already raised 42.6 million Malaysia ringgit (about 71.6 million yuan RMB) for 32 schools, and this achievement has been widely recognized by the ethnic Chinese in Malaysia.
During the past five years, funds from this charity performance has been increasing continuously, which is not possible without the dedication and contribution of people from all walks of life in Malaysia, Tan Khai Hee, director manager of Malaysian Hai-O Group expressed.
Education is of great significance for national development and prosperity, he added, Hai-O Group, as always, will continue to support the development of Chinese schools in Malaysia, and try to cultivate more talents for the Chinese community.
