BEIJING, July 3 -- A 6.5 magnitude earthquake hit Pishan County of Hotan Prefecture in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 9:07 a.m. on Friday, said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 37.6 degrees north latitude and 78.2 degrees east longitude. The quake struck at a depth of 10 km, according to the CENC.
