People in many parts of China are complaining that they have not received high temperature allowances despite the hot weather.

A report shows that 27 provinces and municipalities have released standards of high temperature allowances, most of which remain unchanged for years.

Provinces like Guangdong, Shandong and Hunan still follow the standards adopted ten years ago.

In Guangdong, the standard for high temperature allowance is RMB 150 per month per person or RMB 6.9 per person per day.

Moreover, employees in many enterprises and migrant workers can not get allowances despite those regulations.

Some bosses even use mung beans or beverages to offset the allowances which should have been paid to employees.

Recently temperatures in many parts of China have reached above 35 degrees centigrade, some even above 40 degrees.
