The Madrid Zoo is now celebrating the second birthday of baby panda Xing Bao over the weekend.
Zoo Keeper Alejandro Cabrera is one of the staff working on the special celebration.
"Today is the celebration of the birthday of the panda's in Madrid Zoo. And today we have prepared a very special cake for pandas. It is a cake made about watermelon, it is an ice cake with grapes, honey and some sticks of bamboo and leaves. Pandas love this kind of cakes and in all the celebrations we prepare this kind of cakes."
Two years ago, Xing Bao was born in captivity and his birthday coincides with the ones of his parents.
The Madrid zoo has been involved in a joint conservation project with the China panda base of Chengdu.
According to the project, Xing Bao will go back to China for preservation when he gets older.
So far, some 1860 pandas are living in the wild, while over 370 ones living in zoos worldwide.
