
BEIJING, Nov. 3 -- Li Chongxi, former head of Sichuan province's political advisory body in southwest China, was sentenced to 12 years in jail on Tuesday for taking bribes worth about 11.1 million yuan (1.75 million U.S. dollars).
Li's personal assets worth one million yuan will be confiscated, according to the verdict that was meted out by a court in Nanchang, capital of east China's Jiangxi Province.
