In Gaozhuang Village in Qixian county, central China’s Henan Province, a villager surnamed Zang accidentally discovered a mystical karst cave. With the news spreading, a lot of people descended on his home wanting to take a look at this mystery.

According to Zang, he has been trying to dig a well ever since 2007. Due to poor soil texture, he stopped digging for a certain period of time. Before Oct. 1 National Day this year, Zang decided to ask more people to help him dig. It did not take long before they noticed the ground below was hollow. It turned out to be a huge cave with countless crystalline formations in various shapes.

The karst cave is about 20 meters below ground, extending to a distance of about 300 metres where people can still walk. The crystalline crystalline in the cave appear in diverse shapes. There are also well-reserved stalagmite and stalactites. Water dripping on the rocks makes gives the cave a pleasant feel.

Based on Qixian County records, about 2 kilometers from Zang’s home, there was a karst cave found in 1976 just like the one recently discovered. Further research needs to be done to verify whether these two caves are connected.
