The reporter came to Feixian People's Hospital in Linyi, east China's Shandong province on Nov. 10. According to the doctor, the mother was suffering abdominal pain caused by gallstones and was sent to hospital on Nov. 8. When doctor Fan passed by the CT room, he saw the scene and after getting the permission of the man, he took the photo. Doctor Fan later posted the photo on his social media account, and it soon started receiving thumb-ups and was forwarded many times. 

The reporter then managed to get in touch with the man in the photo, whose name is Li Rubao. He said simply: "When we were young, parents raised us like this too. Now they are old, it is natural to take good care of them."
