
China's Foreign Ministry confirms Chinese hostage Fan Jinghui killed by the Islamic State (IS) Thursday, vows to bring criminals to justice.
Chinese national Fan Jinghui was kidnapped and brutally killed by extremist group Islamic State(IS), China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei confirmed on Thursday morning.
Chinese goverment strongly condemns such inhuman atrocities and will certainly bring the criminals to justice, Hong said.
Hong extended condolences to the families of the victim and said the Chinese government had initiated an emergency-response plan and carried out rescue work. But the terrorist group had resorted to the brutal violence against human conscience.
Terrorism is the common enemy of mankind, the Chinese government firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and will resolutely crack down on any violent criminal activities that challenge the bottom line of human civilization. China will continue to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation with the international community to safeguard world peace and tranquility, Hong added.
